1972 -- Free to be bald and wee

Since I have been on a baby theme this week I thought I would end it with yours truly. I have so many of these cue ball head pictures and I think this one is the best. I didn't have any hair for a long time.

The best piece of trivia I know from 1972 is that Neil Young's "Harvest" was album of the year and other contenders were "Eat a Peach" by The Allman Brothers Band, Nick Drake's "Pink Moon", "The soundtrack to Superfly" by Curtis Mayfield, Exile on Main Street by the Stones, Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars by David Bowie, "Live at Max's Kansas City " - The Velvet Underground, "Music" by Carole King, "Talking Book" by Stevie Wonder and last and most importantly "Free to Be You and Me" by Marlo Thomas and Friends. All in all it was a pretty damn good year for music.

"Free to Be You and Me" -- the ultimate 1970's groovey kid album that I got in 1975 as a consolation gift when Lindsay was born (some consolation -- just kidding Linds). I bid on the CD version recently so we can have it for Ben because I know MC and Karen both love it too. Other trivia I know from 1972 is that "The Godfather" won the academy award for best movie with Marlon Brando as best actor. Liza Minelli won best actress in "Cabaret" (never saw that one). Dad told me he could buy a six-pack of Schlitz for 88 cents in 1972 and the car they had at the time was a '65 silver Mustang.

My parents first night out alone after I was born was out to see the "The Godfather" which had a scene starring Sophia Coppola as a baby, her first role. Mom and Dad were nervous leaving with me for a babysitter for the first time and both freaked when the movie was stopped for an emergency that involved another member of the audience. They, being worried parents, thought it was about me. No need to wonder where I got the "worry" genes from :)
