feline groovey

I found this picture on a chat board today and it cracks me up.

I'm glad this kitter could see the error in her ways and chose the more responsible non-alcoholic beer. She still seems pretty damn happy about it. She looks just like our cat Fred and I know he would probably be drinking non-alcoholic beer, or any beer if he could.

Today marks 113 for me without a drink.

As Kermit the frog said, "It ain't easy being clean."

Errr ... maybe that was another frog ... like Jeramiah the bullfrog?

Congratulations on your 113 days. It's been 33 3/4 years for me and I have to say it's pretty nice here in sobriety once you get used to it. Harsh, but nice.

I have always thought that my Mormon friends had an advantage in that they never had the option of drinking. If I had never started I would never have had to make myself quit, but it's kind of ridiculous to think that way. The reality is that I grew up an Episcopalian (aka Whiskeypalian) and that, like Catholicism, is a drinking religion. My family is with me though and it really helps. My parents recently cleaned out their liquor cabinet and our trip to Canada was our first sober vacation together ever. My little sister was the first to quit and she will celebrate two years this December. It has changed our relationship so much for the better and I love that the baby of the family was the one that taught the rest of us to straighten our act up. It's really been a blessing, not an easy one to live with day to day, but definitely worth the struggle.
