Roy and Liane -- rehearsal dinner


We all had a fantastic time at Roy and Liane's rehearsal dinner. I laughed so hard with Roy and his parents, got to meet his precious tiny nieces Lauren (3) and Rachel (7 months) for the first time and their mom Lisa. Sadly Roy's brother Robert is overseas with the Navy and can't be here for the wedding, but Lisa's mother is here to help with the babies. The restaurant was really nice and old and just like the stereotypical Boston bars in "Cheers" and "Good Will Hunting" -- warm low lights and gorgeous wood interior.

The bar unsurprisingly was packed with Red Sox fans watching the weekend series with the Yankees. Some of the drunken fans took a liking to Liane's dad, Leonard, because every time he walked over and starting watching the game on the massive flatscreen, the Sox would score or make a good play. We started calling him Lucky Len. He and Liane's mom, Janet, are as cute and sweet as Roy's parents. This is already a good wedding party that celebrates the marriage of two people that will hopefully be side by side for many many years to come. I have known Roy for 15 years through all his girlfriends and Liane takes the top prize with no runners up. They are just right for each other and that makes this weekend a really joyous event.

Audrey Rose Georges turned one year old today. Her mom, Angela, made this wonderful invitation for the occasion and has done an excellent job of documenting Audrey from a positive pregnancy test to her most recent milestone, taking her first steps, through her blog, My Daily Struggle . This is one well-documented and adored kid and I hope Angela and Papa Tim congratulate themselves on 12 months of excellent hard work. Audrey is a little superstar.

"It's too close for comfort, this heat has got right out of hand"

Does anyone remember the video for this song. It was so stupid. The Banarama girls were being followed by a trucker and they threw some banana peels on his windshield -- like that would stop him. Any other '80s fans out there remember any more details? I still loved the group and still love the song. I actually have this single on vinyl -- just like the picture. Tomorrow will be a beast. Today the air conditioning was like the Little Engine that Could except this little engine never made it over the hill. The dog pants all the time like she can never quite catch her breath and outside it is just nasty. Even at midnight tonight it was still 85 degrees and a super sauna outside. I have an elaborate system of fans set up in the bedroom and it helps. Andi even has her own fan and she sleeps jacked up right next to it.
